1878 - Ipswich Town Football club was formed as an amateur football club
1936 - Ipswich Town football club was formed as a professional football club
1938 - Elected to the football league
1953 - 54 - Won first ever league title in the third division (south), relegated back down from division 2
1956 - 57 - Won third division again with Sir Alf Ramsey
1960 - 61 - Won division 2 and a year later won first division championship which meant that they qualified for the European Cup, Ipswich went out in the second round to eventual winners AC Milan after overcoming Floriana of Malta 14-1 on aggregate previously.
1963 -64 -Back into division 2 football and Sir Alf Ramsey left to manage England
1969 - Bobby Robson appointed
1978 - Won Fa cup, exactly 100 years on from when the club was first formed at a amateur football club
1981 - Ipswich Town win UEFA Cup
1982 - Bobby Robson leaves Ipswich to manage England
1990 - First ever sacking of a Ipswich Town manager John Duncan
1999 - 2000 - Ipswich win playoffs and go back into Premier league
Jim Magilton was appointed as the 12th manager for the club
2007 - Marcus Evens invested into the club
2009 - Roy Keane appointed as manager
2012 - Mick Mcarthy appointed as manager
2017 - 18 - Mick mcarthy leaves the club
2018 - Paul Hurst appointed as manager
2018 October - Paul Hurst sacked and Paul lambert was appointed
2019 - Ipswich relegated to League 1
2020 - Covid restrictions say 2000 fans only for games
2021 February - Paul Lambert leaves the club
2021 March - Paul cook appointed
2021 April - Marcus Evans sells the club
2021 December - Paul cook sacked
